Driving home on the 101, and I see a Flat Black R8 get behind me... Pulls up alongside me, and looks a bit different, I get behind it and it has Dist license plates.... The side scoops, rear spoiler, and even the rear fins/grills look different than any other R8 i've seen... Here's some pics I was able to take. Looks like it could be some sort of Prototype, Im thinking something along the lines of an R8-RWD, or SL.

Yes. Looks like a PPI Razer setup to me.

 

It might be, but notice the single round exhaust on each side vs the V10's single Oval.... something is different...

Also, ive seen a lot of these prototype cars having that transmitter device (like the one hanging from this guys mirror...)

 

It has Distributor plates on it... Also the spoiler is not as big as the one on the PPI car....

Def. DID NOT look like this... Especially in the front - the front looked bone stock.

Prototype R8 clubsport perhaps... Rears spoiler looks the same.
