Install is so discreet, but you'd probably have to amortize something like this over LOTS of speeding tickets to make it worth your while.

It only takes one really bad one to make it worth it. You can get very severe speeding tickets in this car. The more serious the machine, you should upgrade the countermeasures. The basic Passport 8500 in my VW would be insufficient and look cheap in this car.

If you're under 40 and get a 30 km/h over ticket here, figure yourself at $250 for a ticket, plus 3 years of increased insurance premiums, and that (I'm only guessing here) ~$1200 install doesn't look so bad. Piece of mind can be expensive sometimes.

My point is that if you're driving this car in such a way that you can accrue that amount of tickets fairly quickly, no system - no matter how impressive, "smart", automated, etc. - will cover your ass every single time. So you're probably only going to get your money's worth if you drive ridiculously.

Btw, I think that the price of this system (read about it on M3Post) was close to $2,500 when one member had it installed, although he said it was probably closer to $2,000 now.

Still - 4,5,6+ big tickets to break even?
