I have just spoken to my dealer today who said he attended a meeting yesterday where it was confirmed to him that the V10 will have a basic price of £100700..ouch!! in the UK. But he could not confirm what you would get for that money. I expressed my disgust at the low spec of the R8 V8 and he agreed it was not what it should be and apparently dealers are asking for a much better standard spec on the new V10.

It was also mentioned that the release date would be April next year but he could not confirm that was when the first cars would be delivered or if it was when the official order list would start up. We should have an update soon.

 

 

so how much is it in US dollars? well that doesnt help much

 

Given that price, I'm guessing around $150K USD base. With good spec and some options, it'll be a $170K car, still well undercutting the LP560-4.

 

hate to say, but I think this one will creep more towards 180-185...im sure it will be fantastic, but for me, part or the r8 ideology is that one can really enjoy what the r8 has to offer (including 200k looks) for 120-150k...regardless of engine...I think other companies make better "supercars" and now, for even 150k and therabouts, one can get a 05-06 f430...so...I guess I hope this thing CREAMs the lambo to justify the lofty price!

 

what happend to the v12 diesel?

 

As far as I know that is only going to be coming out on the Q7 for the time being.

 

I think they're also set back by a weak gerabox. The red one featured in all the road tests with the V12 only had an A4 gearbox mounted in it. Revving over 2500rpm would blow it to pieces lol. I really hope they will make it though.
