Audi R8 Question?

Do you think the R8 is a flash in the pan as far as prices go? I know they are bringing well over sticker but do you think they will continue to hold their value over the next six months?

No, as soon as the v10/12 tdi models come out you might as well have a corvette depreciation wise.

What is the projected release date of the V10/V12?

I disagree. I think the prices will hold for quite a while. the bigger engine is over a year away. Just follow Audi's time line for concept to production, and they just showed the V12 TDI concept at Detroit. I think a bit of the premium will erode over time, but not much. you have to remember that they are only planning to bring in around 250 or a so a year. if you got one now, at a minimum you could drive it a year or so for free. more likely, you would still make a little $$

just my .02, though.

I see what you are saying but I fear the 15% to 20% depreciation that could occur as more hit the market. I am looking at one right now and it is $20k over sticker. Last time I did something like that on the same proportion, it was a Z06 and we all know how that ended up.

250? are you sure? I have seen 3 different R8's in my 'hood and Etobicoke is not known to be the mecca of sports cars.

I heard 300, but still the production numbers for this year are going to be extremely low.

Odd, almost shocked to hear that. I know they were three different cars as they were all different colours.
