20K over is not bad. all the ones I have seen on ebay and such have been in the 170's. (40K ish over). I assume this isn't from an AD? If you drive it you will want it.

Craigger - you may recall (from the 6) that I work for a dealer. so yes, the figures I saw (internal docs) was approx 250 (+/- a few VIP cars) from what I understand they intend to keep it very limited. also, keep in mind that special performance Audi's do hold their value better, e.g. RS6 = 88K new, now 5yrs later the nice low mileage ones are still in the 40's. they built 1,100 of those over a 1yr period.

right now if you call an R8 dealer (not all Audi stores can sell it) you will likely be told a vague 2009 timeframe. so I wouldn't worry about too many hitting the market.

 

Granted none of the other Audis are selling for billions over sticker, but their resale value hasn't been the best historically. I would tend to assume the R8 will be the same, and if it isn't then I'll be pleasantly surprised.

 

Okay, then let me rephrase this. Better resale in six months:
05 Lambo Gallardo
08 Audi R8

 

my uneducated guess would say gallardo, but I only say that because I think you should listen to Bajo

 

R8. Gallardo's will continue to tumble in value. plenty of those around. very easy to get.
if you get the audi and don't like it, then you can flip it quick and get the G. anything you make can offset the potential loss on the lambo later.

Gallardo, but go for an 06'+ model. World of difference in the exhaust department.

 

Exhaust is already swapped out.

 

neither, I would wait for something that excites me. The R8 does nothing for me, and the 05' gallardo's do almost as little.

IMHO though.
