Powerboats...Any Suggestions?

You are clearly a West Coast guy! Funny to see how different the brands that come to mind East vs West. Not saying one is better than the other just different what comes to mind.
For a cat, I would say Skater and a pair of 1200 Mercury Racing engines.
I agree with the post with all the questions.....

If you are running ocean all the time, why so small? What is your budget here? Speed costs.... but you know that already.
Big water V hull, I would go Cigarette. The 39 Top Gun with staggered 700's really can't be beat. 100 MPH performance, big water capable and you can get as custoem as you want.

Agreed. If you are running only ocean, I would want something at least 38' or bigger. Tons of options out there. As mentioned Cig Top Gun, Donzi 38ZR, Outerlimits, Fountain, Nor-Tech, and the list goes on. You need to decide how fast you want to go and how much you want to spend. The rest is fun.

With all due modesty....take a look at the banana boat co website.
They have the original designs from Cigarette, Magnum and Apache. They could build a nice 24 or 28 or larger.....up to a 41 foot with whatever power you want. Those designs are timeless, and classic. A boat that will be instantly recognized as a Don Aronow design and pedigree.
Everything is custom. They really enjoy creating something unique working with the customer....think Ruf if you wanted a nice 911 with plenty of power.
Google Charlie McCarthy's banana boat co.

I mean no disrespect at all. Can you help me understand why anyone would buy one of these new hulls? While these designs were far ahead of their time and incredible performers, they don't really compare to the performance of the new stepped V hull designs now being produced.
As for a custom unique experience, isn't that what you can get from builders like Cigarette and Outerlimits today?
I do have a passion for classic performance hulls but I would be far more interested to restore a piece of history before laying up an old design. About 10 years ago I came across one of the old Apache 41 cats. Could be a fun toy......
I don't want to hijack this thread so I will start another one regarding Apache molds......
