*GoPro Vid* Indoor MX

Just yours truly trying to keep up with teenage girls around an indoor MX track.

Keep in mind I hadn't touched the dirtbike in 2 years, and my arms literally jammed up after half a lap despite me saying "I'm just going in way easy to get to know the track". Jammed up so hard I couldn't open my hand to grab the brakes.
Loosened up a little, but you can clearly see I'm pretty much just hanging on for dear life, chickening out on many jumps simply because I can't feel how much throttle I'm giving it, and that I have no strength to bring things back if I mess up. Speaking of throttle, I don't think I've been wide open a single time during the day. Still managed to hang with a 12 year old on his 250 thumper ...

All this being said, most fun I've had in a long time, kicking myself for not having picked up MX again sooner. God it's a riot.

Sorry no crashes, came close @ 2:47, but that's about it. Will try harder next time.

Enough blabbering ... vid!

Cool stuff man! Looks like a blast!

What program did you use to edit the video?

I used Vegas, it's the only software I've got to work. Premiere refuses to read the GoPro vids (that may have to do with the fact it's not really *cough*legit*cough*), so Vegas it is.

I should take courses, because it was a bit painful to learn the very basics, and some things still don't make sense. But for 30min editing, it's better than raw footage out of the camera.

There's nothing better. Haven't been on my dirt bike in several years. I need to change that.

Not looking too bad out there! You're hitting the berms nicely and clearing most of the tables it looks like. Does Honda still sell 2-smokes up there? Here you gotta go orange or blue to get a new 2-smoke.

MX is fun, but it's bloody hard work and it's just so easy to severely maim yourself

Yeah it's a super easy track, hadn't ridden in ages, and could clear everything after 2-3 laps ... until arm pump kicked in and I decided "mmmh, I'd rather not jump as I can't feel shit".
And it's rather narrow, so you can't really go for it and land on someone.

No idea on new 2 strokes, mine is 10 years old, if you can believe it, I think they stopped selling them a couple years ago.
If I were to get a new one, it'd most likely be a 125 ... the fun of revving the shit out of a little bike that's easy to stay on.

And yeah, hard work indeed. Arm pump kicked in literally after 30 seconds (and I was taking it VERY slow). But it's so good once you have a comfortable rythm. Been riding since I was 10 and never got hurt. Only some sprained ankles/wrists/shoulders, couple broken bones. Nothing serious.
Road racing crashes are more gnarly. Plus, not sure I want to stuff a 20k Duc' and actually hurt myself, when I can get away with more thrills for less risk on a dirt course.
