All this in a car that was on the brink of extinction, much in part due to financial limitations of the parent company. Concentrate on actually building a high quality product, rather than revamping your logo unnecessarily. Rant, complete.
So....are you saying it would be a better car if they left the logo the same? I seriously doubt this had any effect. I get what you are saying about focus, but I seriously doubt that anyone involved with the actual quality and driveability of the car had any involvement in the logo process.

Good point by DBV. Why do they build such shit cars? Sure, it may make it around the track, if you don't lose control, but you'll soon realize about 25% of the car disintegrated along the way and you'll question how you managed to get around that last corner as the steering wheel had come off shortly before.

I'm not saying the logo redesign directly had anything to do with the build quality. The point I was making was that focusing one rather erroneous things like a logo revamp, is taking away from necessary funding for things like improving build quality and the overall product.

How Ghey is it that they name the logos? Plus, why change it? They should have kept the original.

I have to agree with ADV, first focus on building a car that good all around. Almost top car builders, like Porsche and Ferrari, Nissan and a few others only change their logo what 10, 20 years. Thousands of dollars and hours are spent designing these logos. and mafishman1 what you say "I seriously doubt that anyone involved with the actual quality and driveability of the car had any involvement in the logo process." Any design has to be signed off by the CEO or someone high up. I seriously doubt that if Lamborghini decides to change their logo that Stephan Winkelmann doesn't oversee the design process and give his go ahead.

Personally The viper is a complete waste of time and money, and should be shelved. but that's my opinion. I'm sure people will disagree.

First of all, I think everything that happens, referring to the 2013 Viper SRT, we should post it here: https://teamspeed.com/forums/modern-...nd-teaser.html Just to avoid having many treads of this car in the "modern muscle" section. Thanks to all.

They almost certainly already employ the designer(s) who did it. Hence it probably didn't cost anything more than they would have spent as overhead anyway.

Yeah great engine, fantastic acceleration, terrible ergonomics and build quality.
Terrible build quality? When was the last time you saw a brand new Viper burst into flames on the highway? The cars are absolutely bomb proof and can be beat to death on the track day in and day out while replacing nothing more than fluids, tires and brake pads.

As to fit and finish, I've had more squeaks and rattles in my Cayman than my Viper, by far. The last Euro car I had that was as solid as the Viper was my 930.

The car is built to a price to be profitable, and Dodge obviously doesn't see a market in tossing a pile of additional luxury and weight into the car and bumping the price up into the 150-200k range. Generally speaking, the people who buy them don't care that the interior isn't covered in leather and misc glitter. They want a very fast, no compromises American sports car, and that's what they get.

It's not hard to build an interior when the majority of it is plastic. Sure the engine and mechanics are great. I love the sound and feel of that V10. But that's where the luster ends for me. Like I said, terrible ergonomics. The Viper I drove was one of the most uncomfortable $90k cars I've ever been in. Not to mention the A/C control knob actually came off while using it. The only interior more out of place, is in the Corvette with it's Cobalt SS steering wheel.

As far as track time goes, I'm sure the ACR is fantastic on a racetrack, but try spending time in a convertible on the track. Maybe it's just me, but it's not as much fun as it sounds.

Not only does the Cayman cost just a little over half as much as a Viper, but you'd be hard pressed to hear any creaks and rattles in the Viper with all that sound coming from the V10.
