2009 Cadillac XLR Facelift Spy Photos
Today we have laid our hands on some of the first pictures of the upcoming 2009 Cadillac XLR Facelift. It took some effort though from our spy photographer who was eventually shadowed by a Mazda RX-8 so that the new XLR could get away.
The facelifted Cadillac XLR will receive a new grille, restyled fog lamps and will sport a fair amount of chrome vents on the fenders. The new front fascia has definitely been inspired by the Cadillac Provoq concept, and with good reason.
Which engine will be featured in the 2009 Cadillac XLR is a bit of a question since GM has announced that it will stop developing its Northstar V8 Engine, an engine almost exclusively used by Cadillac. The Northstar V8's will most likely be replaced by V6's, like the 3.6 liter direct-injection V6 VVT engine (311 hp with 374 Nm of torque) powering the wildly popular CTS.
Possibly the Corvette's 6.2 liter LS3 engine (430 hp with 586 Nm of torque) will be powering the performance XLR-V, but these are mere speculations. Only time will tell which engines will find their way under the Cadillac bonnets.
