i have never seen any lap times for this car on any track, and therefore am unimpressed by it.
has anyone actually raced it? is it anything more than a glorified drag car?

There have been no track tests. SSC didn't have the time or money for such.
But the prototype was skidpad and slalom tested. it posted numbers superior to a Ferrari Enzo. FAR superior to a Veyron.
