Lightbulb Keep the MUSTANG or Buy the GTO

I currently drive a 2007 Ford Mustang 4.0 liter V6 and am looking at trading for a 2006 Pontiac GTO 6.0 liter V8. I have been the only owner of my mustang and it is in perfect condition. The GTO also looks to be in great condition. There is also a large difference in horsepower, my mustang is making about 220 and the GTO is putting out about 450 with a new set of pipes and a cold air intake. The cash difference that i would have to put in is about $6,000.

WHAT SHOULD I DO?

If you want to move up, stay with the Mustang... but get the Cobra. I've driven both, and you can certainly tell the GTO is still a Pontiac. Just my opinion though... (much better looking too)

+1, IMO the Mustang cobra is significantly better looking than the GTO and a good option if you can find one at the right price

That is what i would like to do but, the Shelby would cost around $38,000 and the GTO is $21,000. I agree with you it is just the cost issue

keep what you have then, and save your money to get what you want... worth it in the end

If the GTO is in your range go for it, the engine is better then any Mustang engine and has tons of mods out there for it.

And the Mustang is still a Ford....what kinda comment is that? If anything stock for stock the GTO is the better handling car and has IRS.

If he is talking about a used '06 GTO I doubt he can afford a Cobra....

I am 17 years old, that means that i cant buy a Cobra for lots of reasons, Plus nothing beats the sound of that LS2 corvette engine.

I am buying the GTO

BUT now what mods should i put on it?
