Biggest issue with the new car is weight, my old LX weighed about 3000 pounds. The new ones are gonna be like 3600ish they say....
+1!!! I had a '86 LX with 210hp (1st year of FI) and I put a GT40 intake, larger throttle body, ingnition, pullys, heads and exhuast with X pipe....

....EVentually put a supercharger on it....Wheeee!!!! (until it was stolen and found in Lawrence MA! )

LOL I think everyone owned a 5.0 at some point in the late 80s - mid 90s!

I had a '91 LX 5.0. I think those were 260hp? The 2011 one should kick ass.


Here is where I'm on the fence though. The 5.0s of our youth spawned an entire aftermarket economy. You could bolt on any number of thousands of mods. I wonder how much more you can tweak from this motor without going to forced induction.

The wife will be buying one in late 2011 or early 2012. She wants to wait and see if there are any bugs with the new engine before purchasing.
