I absolutely worshipped that car as a kid. When I was a junior in college, the guy in the dorm room next to me was doing an internship with Jerry Wiegert that year. He went on to work for Jerry (I forget the name of his company) helping him with the many projects he had going on at the time, including the Vector.
Being the car nut I always have been, I was constantly peppering my next-door dorm neighbor for info on the Vector. The next year (my senior year 1989) Jerry Wiegert came to my college to speak about business and marketing and he brought the Vector with him. Needless to say, after the lecture I was the first person out in the parking lot staring at the magnificent (well, magnificent for the time) machine. When it came time to take a few lucky kids for a spin in the Vector (one at a time), my old next door neighbor came through for me and made sure I was the first one. it was only a ride around the block, but it was a truly memorable experience that helped to "seal the deal" on my life long love of cars.
