Apple's Eddie Cue Joins Ferrari Board

Reporting a nine-month sales and profit record yesterday in Maranello, Ferrari also revealed that Apple's head of Internet software and services, Eddy Cue, will be joining Ferrari’s board. The news leads us to believe that the seamless integration of Apple software and devices, will find their way into all Ferraris in the very near future.

“His huge experience in the dynamic, innovative world of the Internet will be of great assistance to us.” Said Luca di Montezemolo.

“I am pleased and proud to become a member of the board. I have personally dreamed of owning a Ferrari since I was 8 years old and have been lucky to be an owner for the past 5 years. I continue to be awed by the world-class design and engineering that only Ferrari can do," said Eddy Cue, commenting on his nomination to the board.

If you have ever used the navigation in the new Ferrari FF or California, and have in a recent Chrysler offering as well, you'll notice these systems are one in the same. Eddie Cue has received some slack recently for the Apple Maps snafu, but it will be very interesting to see what this new addition to Ferrari brings to it's future offerings, and if you'll be able to simply talk to your 458 to send an email while looking for the local Starbucks.
