Ferrari Museum celebrates 50th anniversary of the 250 GTO
The 50th anniversary of the 250 GTO and an accurate and complete exhibition about Gilles Villeneuve and his history at Ferrari.

An opportunity to see a 250 GTO, the most sought-after Ferrari in the world, together with a 250 SWB, Stirling Moss drove to victory in the Tourist Trophy, the 250 Tour de France, which dominated the legendary race in France, as well as the stunning 250 Breadvan prototype, Count Volpi di Misurata let Giotto Bizzarrini and Piero Drogo build to compete with the official cars from Maranello, is something more unique than rare. Until September these extraordinary cars and many more collector’s items can be seen at the Ferrari museum in Maranello. 2012 is the year of the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the GTO, but also the 60th of the first car bearing the name 250.

The museum is ready to celebrate these two jubilees in a very special way. The other reason to visit the Museo Ferrari in Maranello (the museum is open from Monday to Sunday from 9:30am to 7pm) is an exceptional exhibition about the life of Gilles Villeneuve, where his most significant single-seaters, but also the 308 GTS, are shown, the car he used to drive in record time from Monte Carlo to Maranello. Furthermore there are numerous documents, relics and films provided by the Giacobazzi family, former sponsors of the Canadian driver. The exhibited items enable the visitors to understand why Gilles was loved so much by the fans as well as Enzo Ferrari.
