Not much out of ferrari's pocket. Most people barely drive their cars enough in a year or two to get serviced.

Ah, didn't catch that part. Regardless it still won't be much.

Interesting... I believe Porsche has an option in the US that when ordering certain new cars you can get a maintenance package as well, although you do have to pay for it. As said before, I am sure Ferrari will raise their prices to offset the program costs.

My friend ordered a 2011 458 for July 2011 delivery. Delivery was delayed, so the dealer got him the same build in a 2012 instead for Sept 2011 delivery. 2 months later, but he gets the 7 year maintenance program, a one year newer car, and all for the SAME price. Good deal I'd say. Good on you Ferrari!!!

Since the new models don't use belts, this basically just involves oil and fluid changes?

They will now regardless of the maintenance programme, the 458, California and FF feature this new gearbox which is far more daily driver friendly compared to the likes of the 599/430 gearbox. The shifts are much smoother, I hate the 458 italia because I felt I was so much pampered it feels too much of a daily driver, it was just missing cup holders literally.

The Italia has navigation, parking sensors, rear view camera, front lift for curbs, it was only missing massage chairs for it to have the luxuries of a executive sedan/saloon.

The service of the 458 costs remarkably less than yesteryear Ferrari's with the cam belts ie 550/360/355. So the newer cars costs little to maintenance considering they come with the ceramic brakes less likely to change rotors just brake pads. The service costs over here is on par or slightly more with any BMW and Mercedes.

If memory serves me right it has longer service intervals if I am not mistaken, every 12,000km.

Why would it just be fluids? BMW, for example, covers just about everything but tires. If your brakes go during the maintenance period, you get new brakes.
