Post Ferrari Store Opens on Park Avenue

You could try walking past the wall of glass that fronts 55th Street and Park Avenue in New York City. The videos and stunning graphic panels, however, vie for your attention and are a sure bet to win it. The Ferrari showroom in Manhattan is renewed and re-opened. And, it offers a new retail space that tempts fans of the brand with a wide array of Prancing Horse lifestyle merchandise.

New York City is said to have everything. Until the second week of June, though, it lacked what could be found in over 35 major cities around the world — a Ferrari retail store designed by Studio Iosa Ghini. Each store is a one-of-a-kind space, sharing a common identity, of course. The new Manhattan store shares space with the Park Avenue Ferrari showroom, and its windows all face the avenue. The Ferrari vehicle showroom itself, a staple of Park Avenue, has gone through a major makeover.

Inside, the custom-designed retail space immerses shoppers in the Ferrari experience. You don't need to own a Ferrari to come in and enjoy the feeling. The store's design celebrates the brand's 60-year history of legendary racing and road cars. The design of Ferrari automobiles inspired the lines and fixtures of the single-floor sales area.

Every detail of the store bespeaks the brand it represents. The tradition, history and elegance of Ferrari are given shape in materials — from soft leather furnishings to brushed lacquers — that seem to spring right from Maranello's great machines. (In some cases, they do.) Available products include accessories made from the same leather used in Ferrari cars, from wallets to jackets. Unique gift items include various Ferrari watches, a carbon fiber chess set and Ferrari perfume. There is also a wide range of Ferrari scale models available, for the collector and the child dreamer.

The Park Avenue Ferrari Store is one of five in the US. Others are in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Honolulu and Miami. The New York store is the 37th to open worldwide.

On your next trip to New York, by all means, stop in.

YES! This is awesome. These cars are so rare to be seen in NYC. It's cool there's a shop now.

I was there this week. The 458 is a lot smaller than I expected but looks great in person. The Grey/Grey California is beautiful, and they replaced the 612 on the floor with a 599GTO. The GTO is easily the most aggressive car I have ever seen and looks stunning in red with the black contrasting top. Sorry I don't have any pictures, but anyone in town should definitely stop by and check it out.

I was gonna say it was weird not seeing a 599 in the showroom.
