PICS-1961 Ferrari 250SWB

After Supercar Sunday was driving on Mulholland and saw this parked on the side of the road (it was at the show also).

Anyone know why there is an exhaust cover-thing only on the left side?

I believe it was to protect again fuel overflow dripping on the exhaust.

Perfect.

You know whenever I see a car like this, I always wonder how somebody can say they don't care at all about cars. Sure you don't have to love the things but how a car this special can leave somebody stone cold is completely beyond me.

Looking at this car makes me realize how the car industry is getting further and further from this everyday. I don't think we will look back at f430s or gallardos the way we look at these cars, hopefully I am wrong. But if given the choice between an f430 and a 250 Lusso (assuming they were the same price, so I wasn't picking one because it was worth more ), 250 ALL DAY. I do think some modern cars have held up their end of the bargain though, for example the CGT will be epic forever, I feel.
