A friend was commenting the other day about a study about fuel in the GCC. KSA is ranked last in fuel quality so that's an eye opener right there! Easiest solution is to buy VP103 fuel drums and use that with your tuned Cayman to lessen detonation. Remember that heat is also a major factor so take it easy during the hotter months.

There is more to octane rating that you should be worried about when tuning your cars!

We in the Middle East use the European octane unit rating RON, and in North America, PON is used. MON is also a unit which averages out the research rating and manufacture rating.

95RON = 91PON
97RON = 93PON
99RON = 95PON

Your major problem may not be the octane ratings, but the actual contents of your fuel. Take for example Sulfur. Sulfur is the major culprit in casing excessive carbon build-up, especially in direct Fuel injection engines.
