The DC/Nova foodie thread

Uncle Julio's just isn't what it used to be - the beef seems to have lost most of it's flavor, and the quality has dropped off. Picking up it's slack is Guapos in Fair Lakes. Don't get mixed up with the Guapos Rotisserie in Herndon (and others). It's not the same thing.
Also, we went to Seasons 52 (Tysons) and Ford's Fish Shack (Ashburn) over the weekend. Definitely 2 of my go-to places around here along with Sweetwater Tavern. Especially Ford's...
Another place we really love is Hunter's Head Tavern out in Upperville. Really great place that grows a lot of their own food, and I think even the beef.
We went to Oohs & Aahs in DC last weekend and it was overpriced and overrated (Diners Drive-ins and Dives). Shame, I was really hoping for some killer fried chicken

1789 has an excellent reputation. It's been on my list of places to go to forever, but I just haven't been. The Tombs below 1789 is good, but may have become a bit too much of a college scene now. Both are in the Clyde's group of restaurants.
