The DC/Nova foodie thread
I figured I would start this so we can recommend places to each other. My wife and I usually go out once a week to eat, and maybe order in another night during the week.
If you have somewhere that is particularly good, please feel free to share.

Where to start...from my outside seat at Baked and Wired on this nice sunny day in Georgetown. Solid cupcake and espresso drinks, btw.
Here are some good places I have been in DC and remember off hand, representing a variety of cuisines, on the mid-high end of the spectrum.
Blue Duck Tavern
Central Michel Richard
Fogo de Chao
Bourbon Steak
J&G Steakhouse
Filomena
Dino
Rasika
Zaytinya
Founding Farmers (brunch too!)
That should keep you busy for a few dates . I will update later with "dive-ier" spots that I have come across that I would/do go back to, and eateries around Arlington.

I've never tried the Red Fox, but I have seenit plenty of times, looks good.
My wife and I are going to the following place tonight. I'll take some pics and review when we get back. The website looks awesome though.
BGR The Burger Joint

Yeah, great restaurant. Their happy hour is awesome too. You should've let me know you were around. Cava is a tasty Mediterranean tapas place as well, but not as bumpin as Zaytinya.
Agreed, very divey, but delicious.
Other good cheap eats:
Ben's Chili Bowl
Ray's Hellburger
Italian Store
Good Stuff Eatery
Tortilla Cafe
Shake Shack
Pretty much anything in Eastern Market (from crepes to crabcakes)

A lot of good stuff already mentioned.
Cactus Cantina in DC near the Cathedral, or its other restaurant Loriol Plaza in between Dupont and Adams Morgan. (less of a wait at Cactus and the exact same food)
Two Amy's for Neapolitan pizza.
Thomas Sweet for some amazing ice cream (get a blend in)
Uncle Julios in Reston.
Sweetwater.
There's just so much good stuff in the DC area!
I'm still looking for a great philly-style cheesesteak in the area.
