McLaren back at the Ring' with the P1

Sorry to burst your bubble mate but verified by whom??? All we know is that Porsche posted a time with a 918, but no one knows how close to a customer car that car was. Only when a customer car is tested by an independant source can that time be classed as verified.
Now I am not saying they have been dishonest in any way but only independent verification can be held up as unquestionable

put up or shut the efff up is my only message for McLaren. I'm tired of the boasting n no results. It took version 2.0 of the 12C to be even mentioned in the same breath as the 458 WTF!

No ..it went faster on street tires..
They just didn't realease the time..they are concerned for the safety of others..

I for one enjoy my "keyboard warrior" status just fine. I'm at terms with the fact that I will likely never own/drive one of these cars, but isn't us speculating and diving into the little aspects of this car exactly why there are forums like this? I understand there are some strong mclaren fanboys on here but let's take things objectively, this whole ring thing is a disapointment from a fan standpoint.... and yes rich people will still buy this car because they likely aren't buying it to best their 918 driving friend on a hotlap at the ring

It definitely would have been better on the part of McLaren in my opinion as well to release a time, especially after Ron Dennis's comments. But in the realm of things, regardless of whether the P1, 918, LaFerrari does a 6:47 or 7:14 time in the hands of a Ring Expert, none of us who can afford one of these will be able to duplicate it.

Child please. Porsche is one of the most reputable auto makers bar none. They always underestimate and over achieve. Yea like the P1 testing at the ring wasn't rigged. Woking brought the whole GT team with them, please. don't even go there with the dishonest nonsense, do I have to bring up a certain FINE concerning the F1 team and RON!

But my point is still valid; I take any of these so called factory backed Ring assaults with a pinch of salt. None of these companies are above cheating, history has taught us that.
When Sport Auto does one of there respected tests then I will sit up and listen, maybe you should too

McLaren's stance here is that they are above all of that. If that were the case, then why were they all at the 'Ring for so long? It wasn't to refine the suspension settings. The first customer car had already been delivered.
Just because you're rich doesn't automatically mean you can't drive. Or is it just fear of damaging a car so expensive to fix? I don't know because I've never owned an exotic. To me the temptation to see what it could do would be too great to resist at least once.
