Final spec worldwide, I believe. I expect that McLaren are trying to conform to worldwide regs with this car so that the resale market can be global instead of regional. It's not uncommon for F1s to cross continents when they are sold but it doesn't happen as often with modern cars.

So its not just the side markers, there must be something else different from the rest of the world - I would guess less power and more TC as with Ferraris

Well I heard these changes were coming to the car as far back as January of this year from a very credible source. I don't see why they'd arrive at Goodwood with a couple of US-spec cars. I strongly anticipate the orange section in the headlamp which doubles as a reflector and turn signal and also the red reflector/light on the rear wheel arch will appear on all the production cars. Another aspect that plays into this is that making one component/configuration across the entire production line will reduce costs. Guess we'll know for sure when customers start getting their P1s in a couple of months.
