Top speed... It's not close.

F1 - 231 (242 with rev limiter removed)
458 - 201
So I'm guessing you meant they were close in terms of acceleration...

First, losing a 1 mile race to other supercars doesn't make the MP4/12 a bad car nor a bad aerodynamics car.
Secondly, I don't think top speed was McLarens main goal when creating the Mp4/12. By the way it just isn't really powerful with its 600-626PS. The SLR at his time got 626 PS, but today you won't beat nothing with this, maybe 10 years ago.
The Mp4/12 is amazingly fast around tracks having at the same time not much power in relation to Hypercars. Every review I have read or seen about it, the driver were saying that it's handling is one of the best possible. So if I was looking for something bad McLaren has produced, the Mp4/12 would be the last I would choose.
Secondly Maclaren could learn something from Pagani, their aerodynamic is second to none. Have you even read any of the article for the Zonda R or the Huarya.
The Huayras aerodynamic is absolutely amazing no question about that, but you can only compare it to another hyper car and this is going to be the P1. When you believe the P1 has worser aerodynamics you're totally underestimating McLarens know how.
However, its not a question of believe, its about facts and seeing the data of the P1 leads to the conclusion it will be much faster than the Huayra. So I don't understand how you can say McLaren don't come close when they already done a better job? Just waiting for the laptimes, they'll confirm it.
The MP12 or P1 don't even come close.
The P1 is a real hypercar. But saying it will not come close the Huayra is really naive. This means you think McLaren with all their manpower and capacity they can't do better job regarding aerodynamics than Pagani, really? I don't know what to say anymore.

so being a "small" company like Koensigg and Pagani may be a good thing.
McLarens first hypercar will be released soon and we will see what is possible. I don't think it will be faster than the LF but however, both of them will set new records at any track. Being slower than currently hypercars would be a shame for both companies, this just won't happen. Thats what I wanted to say.
