Thank you. I didn't think that I was being vague. I really don't care about Pagani. It's the perspective of the Italian car fan who is obviously intimidated by McLaren. I have never experienced the attention of so many outsiders. I have owned a number of premium and exotic cars. In each case there were compromises. The Astons were "underpowered". The Porsches were under styled. The AMG was heavy. The Audi was gadgety and so on. In each case, I don't remember the attacks from the Italian car fans. And when I owned an Italian car, I don't remember attacking the Germans when they were clearly better cars. For some reason Mclaren evokes a real sense of fear. This company has taken such a new approach that it has others wondering about their choices. It's an historical phenomenon. Change makers that show a definitive difference are always attacked by those who can't.

^I am probably more of a German car fan than a Italian..but sure you have your experiences in life..

Maybe your mclaren really does rub people the wrong way.

Could be for many different reasons, you have your beliefs what they are though..

Good for you

You knew the comments would be incendiary, that's why you put them here.

Horacio is just one opinion in a big, bad world. For people who don't worship him... his thoughts carry no extra weight than those of anyone else. In fact, by showing a lack of knowledge of the product he really does himself a disservice with his comments.

Could not agree more with your statements. It has driven me away from F-Chat after a decade of being a Subscribed Member there, there are a lot of cars I have that I would sell, but the one I won't will be my McLaren.

Erik, I don't think I would be out of line in stating that most on here have a huge amount of respect for your contributions and knowledge.

But of late some of your comments, and I say this respectfully as I do not want to fall out with you are coming across as a little petty especially in regards to Pagani. Now I know the whole TG situation has upset a number of people but as we all know this situation is not unusual or rare in this business. McLaren have been as guilty as have Ferrari, Lamborghini, Jaguar etc etc.

So why can I ask have you suddenly got a downer on Pagani? His comments were via a translator whose first language is not English? Surly we should take any such comments with a pinch of salt as all sorts of nuances could have been lost in the translation.

I am not having a go at you; it’s more a general comment about the internet. Too many people seem to be taking comments out of context and then portraying them as gospel. The result everyone comes out looking bad.....
Every one is entitled to an opinion at the end of the day, we don’t have to agree, let’s just not descend into petty backbiting

Cartel...893 is an unknown quantity at this point
No offense to anyone, but I must say that reading all these hypercars threads in the last few months is like reading in any fanboy forums where fanboys are slashing each other for liking thing x and not y, doesn't matter if its about music, gaming consoles or football forums. Seriously the level of fanboyism has reached an uncomfortable amount, it is ridiculous.

Why it isn't just possible to talk about every car for its own without comparing every single detail and word was saying about that car?
I mean it's ok when you talk about data only(P1 vs LF), but seeing people thousand times repeating them selves that the other hyper car looks better or worse gets boring.

Like teenies in school hating each other which boy band is better. Really weird.

Which engine today is inspiring? You got V12 on the one side, big turbo charged cars like veyron and koenigsegg on the other side and the "smaller" V8's like in the P1 which are also turbo charged.

And I dont know whats wrong about the Huayras engine? It's an great piece of engineering.

I personally don't care about how inspiring an engine is, it should be powerful and fascinating and that is the AMG 6.0. The only thing I don't like about it, is that the sound got killed because of the turbo chargers, the Huayra sound is really lame the Zonda sounds so much better. If V12 then NA produce the most fascinating sound for me.

The P1's engine is also nothing special, but who cares? It's powerful as hell thats what counts! But the Ferrari LF sound will be much better for sure as NA sound always is.

Like streetrod said i think he has alot more knowledge than you think.

Its a poorly translated article/interview done by hand signs..

You choose if you want to nit pick the words.. and its not like he said it shares the tub with a Rover 45.. He is right in a sense..

The CF tub of the P1 and the Engine is derived from the 12C..

PS
And as far engines go.. i think AMG is a pretty good bet..
Evidence lies in every AMG engine ever built, and especially the engines in the Zonda's.

But sure it is what it is

Pagani has a mercedes engine
P1 has a V8 from the 12C

I guess Lafer is the shit in that sense..a high revving 800HP V12 ( as it should be in this segment)

"P1 has a V8 from the 12C" and la la has its engine from the FF and F12berlinetta.
