News of the anniversary event has been floating around since September 8th, 2011 when I was given the honor of announcing the formation of the McLaren F1 Owner's Club. I even posted it here at TeamSpeed.com in the McLaren F1 photo thread:

You do realize all you have done is drawn a slightly widened 12C, right? Something to which a poster here ( who has seen the car ) has said it will look nothing like?

Frankly, I love all of this speculation. I spoke to someone who has seen the car and he said it is nothing like anything we have seen or any of the renderings. I have a feeling that McLaren used a 12C front in the mule and that is throwing everyone off. I wouldn't count on any relationship between the 2 cars.
