Well this evening I was told the price of these HS cars was a slightly more reasonable $420,000 - not the figure quoted by the dealer in Miami. Additionally, the rumored increase in power was confirmed but actual figures are unlikely to be published.

Perhaps, and I hope, that as time goes on we can learn more about these very special 12Cs.

Oh - and I got a book signed.

Thanks for the additional info Peloton. Hopefully we will learn more about them in the future as I'm sure some of us would just be curious as to how some of them were optioned.

I can't decide which orange I like best on this car.

I would love to know what you all think...what's your fantasy preference?

My fantasy preference is whatever color. It just needs to be in my garage.

I wouldn't say 'No' to any of them but I would probably choose Azure Blue. My dream 12C looks a lot like this in fact.

Well, it is interesting to see another HS directly behind the Papaya Orange one. After seeing the first pictures of the Papaya one I wrote an email to the McLaren press office, asking if it is a special edition and if they would be so kind to send me some information I could use for a small article. Here is the answer:

"Dear Mr. K********,

Thank you for your email. First of all, it is not a special edition.

It is a one-off bespoke project from our McLaren Special Operations division made for one of our customers. “High Sport” is the name given to the project by the client.

I hope this helps.

Kind regards"

After that I wrote back, asking if the rumors about a very small series of just five cars is totally wrong, the answer was short:

"Yes, indeed.

Kind regards"

So they sent me wrong informations about the total amount of cars, which is very sad in my eyes. But I think they could be right about the fact, that those two cars are just highly specified to the wishes of their lucky owner/s by the Special Operation department. Anyway, will have an eye on the web to see if there will be more HS McLaren out there.

Reverse lights are pretty cool. Anyone know if there is a front lift system on these cars like the Lambo and Ferrari's have I think ?

No front lift on the 12C - they are probably working on one now due to customer interest here in the States.
