Tx for posting! these really make me consider the Mc! but the price is just WOW! I still have my Mc spider on preorder, so this looks like the way to go, but the price is just wrong..
I am still waiting for The BigMac, any news? i hope by the time it comes out i would be able to afford it. i was told 2 years wait and arond 750-1 mil price tag, but these things change all the time. Mr Peloton, do u have any info?

Mp4-12C HS info
-There are only 5 made worldwide.
-HS stands for "High Sport" limited edition version.
-The price is around 3/4 of a million for each car (but since there are only 5 made it seems rather cheap since the original Mclaren that had more than 70 produced sells around 2-3 million dollars).
One of the mechanics in addition to what the dealer told me confirmed the following performance indications that I got regarding the HS.
- The front louvers are a performance enhancement due to the fact that it gets the air out that is generated within the fender of the front wheels at high speed which generates lift. (While all cars generate lift at high speed, cars fitted with front louvers like most race cars dont generate any lift do to this phenomenon.)
- The car apparently was designed and tested in the Windtunnel and generates ALOT more downforce than the original one.
- All enhancements are done in carbon fiber.
-horsepower and troque are increased by a secret undisclosed amount that not even the dealership knows how much, but the wisper # is around 75 horsepower increase compared to the original.
-the whole front nose of the car was redisgned under strict specifications by Mclaren to enhance the downforce performance and increase air flow to the turbo intercoolers in order to maintain higher boost pressures.
Apparently Mclaren invested close to half a Million dollars in research and development to design and certify the new front nose.
-Also the rear opening and diffusers enhance stability and downforce performance.
I tried to get information on the owner but the dealer would not disclose any information on the buyer but since I did not give up easily, what I got from one of sales representatives was that an older man bought 2 of the 5 cars for which are in Miami. 1 one was bought by the crown prince of Bahrain, another one was being kept by Ron Dennis himself and the last one I could not get any information on. (at least that is what sales representative heard.)
so the on the positive side it accelerates faster, breaks faster, turns faster, and it looks super WOW!!!
and on the negative side no matter what i tried or as many doors i knocked upon and how much I cried, they could not sell me or reproduce any of the HS versions! So I have no choice but to leave with blue balls and go for the original version.
P.S. I honestly believe that if McLaren produced this limited edition version as a standard version Ferrari would have not known what to do with that POS!

I agree fully. They really screwed themselves by not having this be the standard car.

Peloton you are corrected perhaps I was a bit harsh. What I mean is there is so much and press about it being soulless and lacking any design vision. When compared to the 458 it's almost always in second. I think had this been the regular version that distinction would have been much harder for people to make. The 458 is an amazing machine so it would still be a toss up but I think the race would have been much closer.

Anyway, so how many cylinders.....well a lot...more than 8......well it's difficult to say......oh come on.......but it will have 'ultimate performance'. Direct injection? Well all cars will have to go direct injection to meet emission and mpg targets......even the MP12? Definitely at some future point.
Is the suspension different, well it will be an everyday car......so will I be able to tow a Caravan? Well we had not dialled that into the development programme......will you ask Ron? Don't think so, I want to stay at Mclaren.
Will it look sensational in a Mclaren way? It is very Frank Stevenson and he has always done Iconic......Mini, Fiat 500 and other 'Old School' fastish cars so I think it will be seen as very special.
After going roundincircles I have to say the enthusiasm, dedication and professionalism of each Mclaren employee I meet is too good to be true. They really are a motivated bunch in Ron'sWorld
Now how can I convince my wife we need a fast towing car?

If this car is more capable in terms of hp by 75 and all of the exterior changes bring about a higher degree of handling a usability then with the increase to 400K+, it becomes a different car. Just like a GT2RS at 280K is different than a GT3 at 175K. So it becomes a matter of choice or affordability. By the way, I have seen more reviews that favored the Mclaren then the 458. If the standard MP4-12C was this HS version, it wouldn't be in the same class.
