New McLaren F1 begins testing reports Autocar

I can't wait for an F1 successor, not that I'm likely ever able to afford it, it'll be nice to drool over. But performance benchmarks aside, I won't be drooling over the new one if it looks like this render.
Likely performance benchmarks aside, the Original F1 still looks best.
Also, performance benchmarks aside, Zonda F > Huayara, in my opinion.
Just saying. Then again, I preferred the look of the last Murci to the Aventador, but the more I see it, that new Lambo is really starting to grow on me......
By the way, I think Macca would have a hard time keeping up with demand if they made a modern F1 with the looks of the original.......

You guys are hopeless. If this render came out with some unheard of, one off car maker making an attempt in the super car world you would all go on about how ugly it is. The fact that it has McLaren stamped on it and is said to be the successor all of the sudden makes it look so awesome.
Face it, that thing looks awful and I can only pray that whatever the final product is looks anything better than this.

If they are going at "performance to eclipse every other hypercar" they should look MUCH farther then Veyron, 918 and Enzo successor. Tuatara, Venom GT and Agera R are much higher rivals. I think the idea of making a car that is both the top speed king AND track king has long since been possible. The F1 was it. Now with cars like Tuatara and Radical/Caparo doing both is impossible.
