Purple Mclaren F1 Pictures

Saw this on a another forum and thought I would share. Pretty sure it's Rowan Atkinson's that he crashed recently. Can't be many purple F1's around...

Not my pictures but worth a look!

It's not Rowan Atkinson's car. This is the one that used to be blue. The owner was working with Manthey on some mods and then the car was involved in an accident. Looks like the car has resurfaced in this color. Glad he kept the door-mounted mirrors, those are pretty unique and rare. I'm sure Peloton25 will be in here to give you the history

Here's what it looked like when it was blue.

Actually the new color is blue as well. The paint is called "Blu Alfa" or "Lord Blue".

To quote the owner:

"...is a very dark, solid blue, on the reddish side of blue. It was, supposedly, available on some Alfas in approx 1987-91."

BTW: Rowan's F1 is also not purple. His car was painted 'Dark Burgundy' - sort of a deep red wine color, like a bordeau.

Atkinson's F1 is probably a good 9 months to a year away feom being back on the road after his crash.

It is 'art'.

With 'art' you either get it, or you don't.
