Went to the Mclaren Unveiling
Firstly the presentation was very well executed... Simple, to the point with some great point of interest materials laid out.. Several car configurators, the media screens playing with info on the car, several sets of color and interior codes etc.. The food was great, and according to our resident wine affocianado Deuce, the wine was high quality. Im more of a grey goose guy myself.. Pietro and the others did a good job of introducing the car and making themselves accesible to everyone.. Winkelman should take notes....
As for the car...To keep things short and sweet as I havent driven it (yet) inmo this car needs to be appreciated not for what you see when you buy it... But for what you will make it into.. This is a car for the REAl car guys, the ones who will mod, change and fiddle with every aspect of it.. A real drivers car... This car will be loved by those wanting TT Gallardos, TT Ferrari's, not the ones who want a Murcielago with GFG wheels... The guys who want to drive, and drive fast...
As it sits is this car drop dead gorgeous... NO.... Is the interior absolutely insane? NO..... Is whats underneath all of that absolutely rediculous? ABSOLUTELY... For me this car is going to be the new modaholics Porsche... the Exotic Version of the GTR... Mods will be endless... Power will be insane, and unlike the Gallardo TT's it will have the suspension, braking and technology to back the power up..
Only things I saw for me that could be an issue are for 1, the interior is rather small. 2 Grown men inside and you are pretty cramped.. Make one of those guys Kane00 and youll be sweating like a straightman at a gaybar.. The doors swing outwards rather far, could be a problem for some trying to use it as daily driver. Lastly the door mechanisms on the display car seemed like they were having issues.. Could of just been the amount of people opening and closing the doors, or just the fact that we didnt know what we were doing.
All in all, the car isnt pretty like a 458 Italia , the interior isnt nearly as cool or special feeling either , but man oh man... I cant wait to get ahold of one and have SP's TurboAlex get to work! The thought of this car with 800 warrantied hp is INSANE!!!

Nice review. What I find most striking about the car, as pointed out by Chris Harris, is with the different settings you have the opportunity to own 3 cars in one. It goes from a sporty, compliant cruiser to all-out track menace. I find that rather appealing.

, thanks for the coverage
