Actually, I think this is a great point. It seems as though McLaren have developed the car using the same philosophy as Porsche: build a car that you can use every day without getting infuriated with it, using clever engineering, avoiding flash and unnecessary frills.

I think that McLaren may have done it better than Porsche, though, and that's a hard thing for me to type.

To me the way the doors open is completely unecessary. For a car with such purity of purpose in the way everything was engineered, the doors just seem terribly out of place. And to read that they are having trouble with them just reinforces that feeling. And this is odd for me because I love Koenigsegg doors.

It's almost as if they realized the car had no wow factor so they gave it butterfly doors.
