my one qualm with this car is that it doesn't have a 3-seat arrangement like the F1.

 

That's what there main supercar is for. Well I'm at least hoping for that.

 

They're building this to compete with the LP560-4 and 458 Italia. Maybe you'll get your wish when they unveil their halo car (the real successor to the F1). I think I remember McLaren saying something about 2012 for the F1 successor.

 

Yes there will be an F1 successor - perhaps unveiled later this year - but I have a strong feeling it will not retain the 3-seater layout from the F1. Their lead designer, Frank Stephenson, made some comments in an interview that didn't lead me to believe they'd be making another 3-seater any time soon. Perhaps he was just being sly?

Certainly on a car they intend to be used quite often like the 12C it would be a compromise.

There is something very refreshing about this car. It's very nice to look at, would love to own one of these some day.

 

i sure hope so, the upcoming F1 is the car ive been salivating over mentally for quite some time. the 3 seater layout is really the perfect setup if you think about it. i always need room for one more girl.

i hope slyness is correct as i would be quite disappointed otherwise. it might be a compromise on the 12C size wise but if that was compensated for it would be quite a positive in my opinion. besides ingress and egress the added seat adds a lot of practicality. maybe its just because ive been in the "cant take that 3rd person" situation too many times. plus, the centralized driving position would be ideal.
