Maserati MC - Project of the Week - No Kidding

Customer took a 400 mile trek to Premier HQ to get some serious protection to his vehicle along with some other goodies. Our client knows this car will be driven fast, so we were chosen to not only protect the MC from rock chips, but also to install the 9500ci radar detector / laser jamming system. Prior to deciding on this system, we had a F430 in the shop getting a 9500ci nearly completely redone as there were major issues with the installation on that system (NOT DONE BY US OF COURSE). Our customer saw these major flaws in the other 9500ci install and decided to have us install the unit to the car before he makes his 400 mile drive back home!

On top of this, we also laid down some serious window film. We recently began carrying PhotoSync by Prestige, which is a nano-IR window film. This product changes its heat rejecting characteristics by performing better when it gets hotter....by up to 98.5% IR rejection. This nano-tint is the real deal as it does not affect wireless signals, yet provides heat rejection that is pretty darn good.

OK, off to the photos of this product - here's one to start you guys off. BigAl behind the bumper, prepping the 9500ci installation. Packing 20 years of electronics experience, this man's the real deal. Premier's fortunate to have him part of the crew!

Let's begin the story with the 9500ci. Securely mounting the jammers in the front bumper and creating a custom bracket that integrates the unit to the license plate frame.

Moving on to the new window film we now carry. Up until now, we carried only Diamond Cut IR for all of our window tint inquiries. After testing PhotoSync, we are a believer in how much this product outperforms all others. One note about PhotoSync is that it is extremely difficult to heat shrink...fortunately, our window tint installers have sufficient experience to lay this film down.

A little bit more information about PhotoSync - it is made by a company named Prestige Film Technologies based out of Osaka, Japan. We have been their beta tester for this window film for the past 18 months (give or take) and finally given the green light to its quality several months ago. This film will actually perform better when the heat intensifies (summer) giving it over 98% infrared rejection and Total solar rejection at some 65%. It also blocks out 99.5% of uv rays just like other high end tint, but the difference is that it is capable of doing this without the use of any metals. This means no worries about signal interruption (radar, am / fm radio waves, keyless entry systems......). Plus, the film's lighter shades still perform better than any conventional dyed and metallic tints.

Here's a sample of our testing - https://teamspeed.com/forums/mclaren...ndow-film.html

The owner of this Maserati also had us install ceramic tint on his E60 M5 4-5 years ago and to quote him, "the result is much better than the previous ceramic product." (believe the owner will chime in here some time in the future) He opted for PhotoSync75 on the windshield and 45% on the sides and rear....same shade as the MP4 in the link above.

Tint is being prepped in this picture - yes, we prep the tint on the outside and install to the inside.

AFTER - PHOTOSYNC 75% WINDSHIELD AND 45% ON THE SIDES / REAR. THE PERCENTAGES REPRESENT VISIBLE LIGHT TRANSMISSION (VLT) WHICH BASICALLY MEANS THE HIGHER THE PERCENTAGE NUMBER, THE LIGHTER THE FILM GETS

Impressively high heat rejection with Prestige's PhotoSync, this is one of those rare products that will be a game changer. As mentioned before, PhotoSync IR tint's heat rejection actually improves when it gets hotter. The manufacturer claims 98.5% IR rejection with a Total Solar Energy Rejection by up to 65%. This is all done without using any metallics in its composition, so there are no effects to wireless signals such as am / fm, radar detection, satellite signals, and keyless entry.
