New Lancia Stratos News: 40 Buyers Interested in Ferrari-Based Supercar
#1

Carscoop reports to us:
A small series production of the Lancia-badged New Stratos seems increasingly likely as time passes by and more people learn about the supercar created by Pininfarina for German businessman Michael Stoschek.According to the latest announcement, so far 40 potential buyers from Europe and other regions have registered their interest in the New Stratos, but Pininfarina and Stoschek believe that this number will continue to increase after the massive exposure from test drives and presentations in a variety of car magazines in their February and March issues.
The original cost of development of the New Stratos is rumored to be around €3 million but the company believes it can sell the supercar for somewhere around €400,000 or $545,000, which includes €100,000 for a Ferrari F430 donor car and €300,000 for the conversion.

Too expensive for what you get. As the saying goes: "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder". Each person has his own interpretation/valuation of a car based on looks, performance and the total package. For me it would be no more than $250,000

Agreed. This car is priced at double what it should cost

I read in a test, they won't be able to produce over 25-30 cars because the shapes for the carbon fiber won't stand it. Don't know if it's true or not, but it gives an idea of how many they want to produce !

An email I received this AM from Stratos
Dear Mr. H2OSkier
I am pleased to inform you that the signing of a contract is immiment, following talks which Michael Stoschek and Pininfarina began at the Geneva Motor Show about the planned low-volume series of the New Stratos.
The basic price is to be lower than 500,000 euros; it is planned to use the chassis of a Ferrari 360 F1. Base vehicles such as the F430 or the Scuderia as well as several feature variants are to be offered as an option.
We will keep you informed about further steps.
Best Regards
