M5 Manual Transmission

Despite currently owning a 550i lemon (44 days at the dealer in 2 years), I'm thinking of trading that fruity car for an M5.

I drove one of the few manuals that I could find yesterday and was very impressed. Really miss rowing gears, the car has power to spare. It will be leased so I have no concerns with resale.

Thoughts/opinions much appreciated.

Are you referring to the E60 or F10? Just curious, since you're in the US.

Well the most common thing I hear about the E60 and F10 is that they "weren't designed with the manual in mind" and therefore the experience is sub-par with the 6-speed because the rest of the car is built around the automated transmission. Would you say your experience with the F10's you drove was lacking in any way? Was there anything unpleasant about the experience of using the clutch or rowing the gears (anything that felt off)?

Most fun I've had in a sedan since selling the RS4! Clutch is soft, it's not a short shift but not aggravating either.
Ya gota love those high speed downshifts!
Picking the car up Thurs,,,bye bye 550i
