Otto's awesome! The M5's awesome!
Your post is just oozing awesomeness right now! I drove an M5 very recently (actually posted about it here on TS as well) and I was amazed by how effortlessly it picked up speed. Congrats on a fantastic purchase!

Its' Back!!!! New oil pump and ready to go. Otto is very happy today and looking forward to going for a ride.
BMW did handle this very well, they set me up with a nice loaner vehicle, BMW made a serious financial consideration to my benefit. Most of all the kept me informed as to what was happening, when it was happening, and they acted very professional.
Anyone can deliver when things are good it is the exceptional companies that deliver well when things aren’t so good.

I now have about 2,500 miles on my M5, and it is a beast! The launch control mode shoves your eyeballs back into your head!
As a daily drive in the “nice” modes, it is very docile and comfortable, quite etc. Everything you would expect from a BMW sedan.
Then there is the M1 button, HAH! A totally different experience, a responses brute that is just a gas to drive. The speed it changes gears is prenominal, just stand on the peddle and bang, bang, bang a little wheel slip with each new gear, just enough to make things exciting.
Next up, a Dinan chip……

Turbo lag? Under what conditions did you experience that?
#49
During in a test drive, had it in sport, 3rd gear doing 60mph and flooring it..... then huge turbo lag
Repeated it at least 3 times and even commented to the sales manager riding with me. I said to him "where is all the torque, we are at 4k rpm and I am flooring it?"
He had no comment.
Off the line from 0 to 30mph it is very quick and jumpy but at highway speeds it is not great.
