I hear you guys on the break in. I did drive my 996TT like mad the day I got it. However, say something bad did happen, they look at the computer records, see I was “violating their rules” I am screwed with one big repair bill. It isn’t that long I can be patient. I will have plenty of time to have fun.

C. Do not hammer it and engage the gear shift down
I can tell that it is beast, keeping within the 5500 RPM break in limit is hard to do, it comes up quickly.
The technology is very similar to my 2009 750, almost exact with a few upgrades. The parking assistance is wild, true bird’s eye view of the whole car. The shifting is insanely fast, either manual with the paddles or in automatic mode it switches gears far faster than anything I have driven before.
The steering and feel is true BMW, only on roid’s! In Sport+ mode, stiff and responsive is a huge understatement.
I will post some more once I can treat it a little more like the beats it is. I am drooling over using the launch control.
Right there with you. The break-in period is breaking my heart.

For what it's worth, guys, we break in every motor we build before it ever gets to the customer for precisely this reason. Too many people ignore the break-in, and more often than not, they are the very people who experience problems.

Be careful out there.
