F10 M5 186mph crash like boss

True but a lot is luck, some crashes a much lower speeds would have easily killed them.

First time you go 150mph you feel like you're in a F16 breaking the sound barrier, after a few runs it is a nice cruizing speed and you want to try 200mph

and no matter how great the chassis is and how great this and that is.
from 180 mph to a rapid stop in minimal time/distance will oppose your body to deadly forces...I guess those guys simply had luck by the way the car crashed and decelerated as a result.
But nontheless,BMWs crash safety is top notch and a lot of energy can be absorbed by the chassis upon impact - even with the smaller cars like Mini and 1 Series.
Plus the fact that rescue forces are trained on BMW cars and know the best points to begin a cut when they have to cut somebody out of a wreck

True as that may be, the CAR and BODY are moving forward at 186 mph. The car may absorb energy, but the body being "stopped" by the seatbelt, chassis, etc. will still be moving forward even as those safety mechanisms attempt to save you. Hence the ruptured organs, aorta, arteries, etc. Those people are alive by the grace of something else, not BMW's engineering. Just my $0.02.

Good to hear that they survived! Incredibly lucky chance I believe.
Reminds of those kids that went off the end of that private runway in an e60 M5 and ended up in a tree... If I remember right, not one of those kids survived though...
