I did consider an M5, but wouldn't buy a car without a manual tranny (and yes, I know the smg/dtc shifts faster than I can). And although you can get the M5 with the manual I've heard poor things about the set-up in the M5 - like it was an afterthought, can't turn off traction control, etc.

Also, coming from a 997 I did want something somewhat light on its feet.
