SR Project Exkalaber | Breaking Down Barriers

The memories created when modifying a car is something the owner will hold on to forever. For enthusiasts, the transformation of their car is similar to watching your kids grow up. It’s a mix of emotions, both good and bad but in the end you realize it was all worth it.

We begin with the wheels, as a set of PUR 4OUR DEPTH are featured on Project Exkalaber. PUR Wheels is known for creating an exclusive line for Ferrari and Lamborghini applications, so it a bit out of the ordinary to see them on this M5. We took a standard twenty-two inch Lamborghini application, which has a bolt pattern of 5×112 and had them professionally re-drilled to 5×120. As a result of that, we have the first ever set of PUR’s on a M5.

The body styling and performance was a bit more simple in terms of attainability. We selected brands that have a heritage with the BMW lineup and are synonymous when you think of BMW tuning brands. A full Hamann aero kit including front lip, side skirts, and rear lip were selected based on their quality and fitment. We all know that nothing brings down the momentum of a build like a poor fitting aero kit. A Dinan exhaust system proved to be the most beneficial in terms of power. The exhaust tips were finished in a matte black coating to compliment the other subtle black accents on the car.

The passion to create a personalized car is what catapulted Project Exkalaber to where it stands today. It is cars like this that keep our motivation strong. The idea that you can break down any limitations in front of you to produce a end product that you can truly be proud of. Project Exkalaber’s story reminds us that we should modify cars for us, not to please anyone else.

Not a fan of the Hamann bodykit but the rest of the M5 is nicely done. What's it lowered on?
