on paper and at the drag strip - yes

but out at the track and in the real world - no

 

First allow me to say thank you for the great review and cool pics!

And, I just wanted to comment on the new M5; how should I say this...but it is so unexciting. Where is the passion from BMW Motorsport? Having owned an E39 M5, this was a car you could really excited about. Great v8 growl, heavy steering feel, hand rolled fenders, custom interior touches like a sewn leather dash, and great styling with a bad @ss stance.
What does the new M5 offer??? Yes the motor is fantastic and the suspension improved - but we expected that. I mean, the interior looks like a standard 5 Series. The sets arent special. Without the big front intakes, it doesn't have much of a Motorsport look IMO. It's heavier. Just effin boring. I'd take an M3 with factory sport exhaust if I purchased another BMW.
