Indeed, the only question mark is the noise it makes. This is computer-generated, with a digitally-enhanced soundtrack played through the car’s speakers.
I'm sorry but this is the gayest thing I have ever read. Aside from how boring looking the car is, this feature forces me to never consider this car out of principle.

It's certainly a feature that's causing much controversy! In reality, it's not as 'false' as it sounds, but there's still no denying the noise lacks rawness and edge.

I wonder if it's something that's going to become more commonplace as more and more performance cars move to turbocharging?

I'm skeptical about the M5 steering, since the review stated that the sport+ mode felt "detached", and that the power assistance seemed broken.

I'm also a little ify about the acoustic start-up sound of the engine. I'm cursious to see videos or audio on how the engine sounds through the car speakers.

Despite all, BMW continues to make more powerful cars every year, and I'm looking forward to seeing one of these on the road!

The weight of the steering in 'max Sport' mode is certainly substantial: it's stiff enough to make you feel there's something up with the PAS. The median setting is best - comfort setting is, conversely, too light.

Turns out, the center console is black leather. Still, it should be wood.

Thanks for the nice review! Cars are getting bigger, heavier, more electronic, and more distant... thanks to engineers like the M division, at least they are still fun!!!

Glad you liked the images! It's a car we used hard during our week with it, and we wanted to show that... it also illustrates, we hope, how particularly well-suited it is to British roads. Which, at this time of the year, are generally grotty and filthy..!

Nightlysam is an unknown quantity at this point
"And it DOES respond as BMW promised: near-instantaneously..."

Does that mean there is some turbo-lag?

Great review!
