Both are great cars. I think all the comments have been said in this thread. C63 is brand new, vs a 6-7 year old chassis. It should win! The next M3 is shaping up to be a monster, from what I have read.

C63s are flying out of the showrooms because they're brand new. M3's are EOL, almost all cars get discounts right before they are replaced. They flew out of the showroom when they were new. And the AMGs will get discounts right before they are replaced.

This is where i believe MB isnt competing with any other car maker but themselves.
They knew that the M3 was at end of life, and another model was in the works and they still went ahead with this car, they didnt wait for the new M3 to come out and compete against it.

BTW, How many coupes are there in their line up now?
C, E, CLS "coupe", CL coupe.
