honestly...why are you complaining?
It could be much worse!

I for my part would be better off with the taxation in your country,..or just think of Denmark,Finland etc
You have a lot of freedom to do things you can`t even think of in other countries...so please appreciate it..
I love your country!

In Portugal if you earn more than 155000€ per year you get this income taxed with 46.5%. In the UK over 155000£/year you pay 50% in income taxes. And in the northern Europe states, such as Finland and Sweden I believe that the overall taxation is even higher. And with the Eurocrisis this taxes will be aggravated.

This is why company's are trying even harder to get taxes on profits and employees incomes in taxes heavens.

Thats the problem of this socialist governments, that penalize who work to fund the ones who don't want to work, and provide a vast array of services to the population free of charge.

But the USA will experience this socialist reality first hand in some decades if the Democrats continue to implement their plan for universal health care and start funding everything to those who don't work, from housing to personal expenses.

As a businessman I appreciate capitalism, and think that it's one of those things that is great in the USA. It's do or die. After the bailouts and the democrats i'm not so sure of this anymore.

Of course I knew that disparities in prices exist all over the globe, but this case with the BMW M3 MSRP touched me more cause I scouted them in Europe around 2 years ago and all countries considered the best price I had is more than double because at least half of the MSRP goes to state taxes.

How much % do you actually pay in the US?
I know it's around 40-50% in almost every EU country.

In Sweden you pay ~30 % income tax and at >85k a year you pay an additional 25 %. So you pay somewhere round 55-60 % income tax.
An barebones M3 coupe costs 110k. The exchange ratio is pretty favorable for us at the moment, rendering the M3 more expensive (compared to U.S. prices) than it actually is.
