triple turbo 6cyl diesel engine? I think thats sounds like a countermove against audis new V6 TDI with 313 hp (or sth like that)
but with an M badge? oh no please not...

Not to be completely ignorant, but how do we know its not going to be just a 550 diesel with AWD and an m-sport package (ie bumpers, wheels, few interior bits etc)?

It could be, but if the new engine is as good as people seem to think it will be then I'm sure that will be plenty.

An M5 diesel wagon would be one of the best "practical" cars imaginable.
