The black car? Looked like a F11 5 Series Touring Wagon. It had exhaust pipes on the left side. Maybe a diesel or 528i model.

It is great to hear Harris isolate all the intangibles of the M driving experience. Some of the feeling of M cars is hard to put in words... the damping, solidity, steering feedback, etc. Best auto journalist for sure.
