Great to hear, wondering what color combo you went with? Considering all the options for the interior...

Am looking into getting one of these as my next car. Would love a luxurious four-door with all-wheel drive. Just have the need for great driving dynamics, which BMW and Alpina almost always combine to deliver on point precision (minus the Z8 IMO). Currently I've been drawn to Audi's because of their quattro, was wondering how this Alpina holds up in all-weather conditions

I got metallic blk on blk, I know kind of boring and I am sick of blk cars but blk really seems to work on this car. I considered space grey or silver but was nervous to take a chance as I have not seen either color in person on the b7. I cant comment on how the car performs in the snow yet, but will say one thing that bugs me is other than the performance tires that come on the car there is nothing else I have found in the market that is made in that size if I wanted to buy an all season or winter tire to fit the stock wheels. You have to go down to 19 inch alpina wheels to get snows which I guess I could do but they dont even make them in the same style as the stock wheels. Overall I love the car my only 1 complaint so far is I dont find the seats as supportive as an s63, but maybe I just need to play with the adjustments a bit more. Overall very very happy. On a side note, anybody know when the new m5 will arrive, this yr or next ? And all the photos online look like photo shop no actually official pics yet right ?

I, too, have had thoughts going against the whole black/black car scheme but every time I buy a new car it is usually the color I end up choosing. It's one of those things that while I do recognize this current (possibly dated) trend may soon be coming to an end, I still appreciate the old adage from my days of growing up in Kentucky; "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". When it comes to black cars, they always seem to work for me...

As far as the seats go, let us know if you do end up finding a comfortable seat setting. I remember the seats in the 760 were well up to the task of comfortable, everyday driving seats so I did wonder if Alpina changed the seats for the B7. Sounds like they did, but I may be wrong. Would you consider the S63 seats more racing bucket-style (obviously not GT3-esque) but more performance oriented than these? I assume so, just would like to hear more specific details if that makes sense.

The wheel situation has got to be frustrating. Having had to switch my Potenzas on my GTR that I had for the better part of two years for Blizzaks just for winter was a pain for all the installation, balance, etc. but I guess that's the price you pay (literally and figuratively) for owning a high-performance machine like that. Fortunately they did actually make the Blizzak LM-22's in 20 inch size, so I am pretty bummed to hear of the absence of winter tire options for this Alpina. Especially given that they offer an AWD variant such a tire should be a necessity. Also, what is the sidewall rating on your current setup? Do you think it deteriorates from the ride at all? (I'm sure Alpina put a great suspension setup on the car, but am thinking with something smaller than 20s it could be a softer ride. Or maybe it's just because I don't like 20-inch wheels on performance vehicles-be they saloons or coupes or supercars. They make look great, but I'd rather take something with a bigger sidewall offering better ride and more wiggle-room for everyday-driving skurmishes with the occasional curb.)

Again, all my own honest opinion, but the Alpina has been one of the few cars that really gets my blood flowing when it comes to four-doors under 200 grand. On that side note, from all the info I've been reading/gathering about the new M5 it is due to debut sometime this spring and should be stateside in the fall. If they still have the near 50/50 weight distribution then I may forego the need/luxury of 4WD up in New England just to have upwards of 600 horses to run around with everyday.
