Alpina B7 AWD

Do you need the AWD?? I would assume having NYC in your username, you experience some snow... So AWD would def. help in that situation - As far as a Test Drive, I doubt you'd notice any difference, just a little bit of extra weight. But in the slick stuff, it will make a big difference.

I've only driven a RWD F01 750i and B7. I read a good review of RWD vs Xdrive in Roundel. The journalists preferred the AWD 7er in almost every test. It seemed to really helped keep the big sedan stable on the track and provide a confident ride in any weather condition. If you plan on driving in winter and you live in the NE, then why not go AWD to be safe? I'm more excited to see pics of your B7 when it's delivered. Amazing car.

"Throw even the extended-wheelbase 750Li xDrive into a corner, and you’d think you were driving something the size of a 335i, with nicely weighted steering that gets a bit heavier as you go through a corner and the front wheels pull you through."

I've heard/read that the AWD is pretty transparent in the big BMWs. I'm really curious to hear your impressions of the B7 (esp. if you get AWD). I'm trying to convince my wife it's time for me to move on to big sedans... Good luck with your decision!

Either way, excellent choice! Everyone's been raving about the F01 B7.
