M6 Paint Correction Detail and HRE Wheel Polishing

This M6 had moderate paint imperfections and required a three stage Menzerna polishing process to correct the issues prior to the application of the paint sealant. We start with a good hand wash and clay bar treatment to prepare the paint for polishing. Prior to polishing we carefully tape off all trim and emblems to protect them from damage during the polishing process. This is an additional step but one of the most important parts of our detail. While the polishing process commenced we focused our efforts on polishing and restoring these two-part HRE wheels. These wheels were hand polished and finished off a power ball to bring up the mirror finish. Once polished we applied a coat of Swissvax Autobahn to form a protective barrier. The results speak for themselves. Here are some pictures of the process and final product.

Most important thing is to have a seperate microfiber mitt, bucket with grit guard, and soft brushes just for the wheels. We actually use brand new micro fiber towels when we wash wheels to make sure there is absolutely no dirt that could cause scratches and rinse with alot of water. Mothers has a great polish to remove the tiny scratches and remove the oxidation. Key is to seal the wheels with a wheel sealant after you clean them to help ease washing and reduce the need to scrub which is a major scratch causer. Hope this helps.
